A Lodge L12SK3 12-inch cast iron skillet from a factory second lot. Lodge is the oldest American cast iron foundry still operating — every skillet is poured in their Tennessee foundry and pre-seasoned with vegetable oil before it leaves the facility.

Factory seconds from Lodge have minor cosmetic defects from the casting process — typically a small rough patch, minor discolouration on the exterior, or slight variation in the base texture. None of these affect cooking performance. The cooking surface, seasoning, and structural integrity are the same as first-quality pieces.
